Erin's 3rd Birthday Party

What a great time we had today. I probably won't be able to post all the photos that should go with this blog today! Erin's birthday is 09/18 and we set up for a Petting Zoo to come to her party. All Erin talked about for weeks is her birthday party. We worked diligently to get the house clean (and almost completely unpacked!) for the party. Sometimes I wonder why you work so hard before the birthday party to get the house clean, you know?

Anyway, she woke up very excited about her party today. We let her help clean the house. Mary Spraggins, a friend of mine from the Junior League, made Erin's birthday cake - it was a pink bunny in green grass. Erin was SO very excited when Mrs. Mary brought the cake by. We showed her the cake and Mrs. Mary asked if she liked it. Erin smiled from ear-to-ear and said, "Oh, a pink bunny, that's my favorite!" Mrs. Mary was so happy to hear that (and so was I).

The Maxwell family (Melinda, Danny, Shayla, Kallen and DD) arrived first to help us set up a tarp like thing for the petting zoo. Almost immediately after they arrived, the petting zoo arrived. They set up the pen and then started adding animals to it. Shayla, Kallen, DD and Erin were so excited to watch the animals go in. There were so many types of animals - ducks, geese, lambs, goats, pigs, bunny rabbits and hens. They brought out all the animals and then brought out the pigs - they squealed all the way from the street to the backyard.

Soon after the zoo arrived, Erin's friend Sarah and her baby brother Zef arrived. They went into the petting zoo with their Mom and Dad. Then the rest of Erin's friends started to arrive. Joshua, Jacob, BriLeigh, Maddy, Joseph and Sean came (with their parents!) Grammy and PeePaw were there too. It was quite a warm day, but the kids didn't seem to mind. They played and played with the animals. The Zoo was nice enough to bring their pony out and most of the kids got to ride the pony one time. All of the kids - even the smaller ones - had such a good time playing with the animals. Ruth got to have her first pony ride.

Cathy and Laurel Brooks came too. Laurel watches the girls from time to time for us. The girls LOVE Laurel and she does such a good job with the girls.

We were so glad that Grammy and PeePaw came. PeePaw took the job of watching baby Ruth in and out of the house so that Geoff and I could make sure the party went without a problem.

All the kids ate snacks for lunch and then we had the cake that Mrs. Mary made. The kids got cupcakes that Geoff made... Everyone had a sugar high by the time they left the house! :O) Erin was so blessed by all her friends bringing such great gifts. She has had such a good time playing with all the toys.
